“Flu Season”

It’s that time of year again when every time I drive past a Walgreens or CVS I roll my eyes at the message on the monument sign. If you hadn’t heard by now its “flu season”, cue eye roll.

The flu comes from a virus, which is more active in the winter. The virus is more stable in colder and dryer weather which is why flu season is generally from about November until March.

There are plenty of options available to deal with the discomfort of PMS, and you can easily

It was the most challenging, interesting, life-changing thing I have ever done, as my mom told me before I started “it changes the way you think and see the world.” But I know everyone doesn’t have 4 years and 100k to put towards a Master’s degree in Oriental medicine so I’ll just tell you the one thing that started all other

When it comes to your health, control what you can

I was at Ulta, the cosmetics store this week, browsing for a new facial cleanser when a woman who worked there came over and asked if I needed any help. I told her what I was looking for, a detoxifying cleanser that was preferably charcoal based to even out my skin tone. She said she has something even better and brought me over to the Peter Thomas Roth skin care products (apparently a higher end brand) and showed me his

Why do I have Back Pain?

Does you back hurt, does it ache all the time?  Perhaps you have been to the doctor and they did not find anything wrong, so they gave you muscle relaxants and pain medication.  They may have sent you to PT.  After dutifully going to PT several times a week, you still have an achy back.  You might even have been to a chiropractor, and you feel better after a “crack”, but the ache comes right back.

What to do?

Let us help

I’m sooooo Tired – Acupuncture for Fatigue and Insomnia

You have a hard time sleeping through the night.  You wake up every night, maybe you need to pee, and when you get back to bed you find yourself wide awake.  You look at your clock and it is always about the same time every night.  I bet it is between 1 am and 3 am.  If so, this is a symptom that you are not adequately handling stress during the day.

From the Eastern Medicine perspective, the liver is the
